I want to speak up to say what a great experience I had with King’s transmission.
After speaking with Ken about my transmission problems, I felt I had contacted a knowledgeable,responsible, efficient company to analyze and fix my transmission. I drive Dodge Caravans, so I have had a lot of experience replacing transmissions(4) using other transmission shops.
King’s diagnosed the tranny which showed 2 codes, and gave me an estimate for the repair to solve both. I was given an explanation of what might be happening, and I welcomed the advice to fix one problem at a time to see if the first repair made it unnecessary to repair for the second code. Well, it worked. They could have easily taken my money to repair for both codes. AND, the diagnosis and transmission service that I requested cost less than most shops charge for just the trans service. Also, if I had needed a whole new transmission, the quote was very reasonable, and in fact, less than many other shops had quoted. I decided that when this transmission goes out, as I’m sure it will, Kings will be my choice for the repair.
I did experience an odd trepidation on their part to have me authorize the work via phone. After reading the previous review, I now understand. It is very sad to see things go so awry. Don’t know who’s “fault” it was, but so often there is a large gulf between what one individual thinks they are saying and what another hears. Sorry it came to all that (for all of you: Mark, Roger H, and Ken) Ken’s “answer” (follow the comment thread) to the unhappy reviewer made me even more confident in King’s ability to serve the consumer.
An honest, straightforward business (at last)!
I inquired of the staff as to whether or not my old Mercedes was in need of maintenance or repair. After some questioning as to age, mileage, etc., I was told that, “No, don’t mess with it until it needs it.”
They could have told me otherwise and hit me for a couple of hundred bucks, but they were honest and told me to leave it alone.
Ya’ donn’t find that sort of thing too often.
very helpful customer service. went out of their way to deliver out transmissions to Air Freight towards Skagway AK for us! Worked this shop VIA phone to solve our problems! They are very easy to work with for a quality product!
brought my car in for transmission problems! Turns out I need a tune up on my engine. Mark was very helpful and they did not charge me anything!
I have known Ken the owner for the past 30 years! He is fair and honest he just rebuilt the manual 6 speed transmission on my dodge truck and it works great! I would not go anywhere else!
Had my truck sent down from Alaska after talking to Mark! They did a total rebuild and put the truck back on a barge! This was easy and they kept me well informed!

1993 Chevy Blazer, brought in for the alternator on august 18th, went to start the vehicle on 11/7 and had no power! Kenny had me bring down the car and found battery dead! He replaced the battery at no charge wow!!
Kings rebuilt my transmission, they were very understanding when I explained it would take a week to ten days before I could pay and pick up the car! Kept me informed of every step!
Kings gave me a free Diagnostic for a shifting problem on my 2005 Hyundai! Turns out that its not the transmission but a sensor on the Engine. Gave me advice on how to get the problem fixed. Charged me nothing for the Service!
Brought my 2003 Acura MDX to kings because it would not shift into gear! Kings gave me several options. I picked rebuild, it was expensive but worth it for the 3 year Nation Wide Warranty!

Brought my Jeep Cheroke in becaise the transmission was slipping. Mark has his guys check the Jeep and give me a full report! Not only did I get the transmission rebuilt but they also rotated my tires + checked front and rear differentials! Plus changed my oil and filter great service!
Took my wifes 2003 Trail Blazer to Kings because it was slipping and clunking! Kings rebuilt the transmission. The Clunk was the rear sway bar that was also fixed! Now no slipping and no clunking! Wife will be so happy! Happy Wife, Happy Life!
My car would not shift right when cold, I brought it to Kings for a Free Diagnostic. Kings found that the Transmission was Low on Fluid and seal needed to be replaced. They let me know that a rebuild or major repair was not needed. They replaced the seal and did not take advantage of me!
Brought Kings my 1999 Dodge Dakota with Loud Noise from Rear End. Explained to Ken my tight money situation. Ken went above and beyond keeping my price down. I can’t say enough about kings!
We failed emission test with a PO200 code. Checked online and found it was transmission related. We then checked with Greg at Masters Auto Repair and he pointed us in the direction of Kings! Kings found two other codes in transmission computer, we were given options from rebuild to repair. We picked repair! Nice to have a repair shop that will work with the customer!
Kings rebuilt my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, Did updates to the transmission, made it better shifting, performance transmission, Got a 3 year nation wide warranty!
1999 GMC Tow Truck, Transmission on my tow truck was bad. I use this truck to make a living and can’t afford to be down. Kings pushed me to the front of the line and put me right back to work. I can’t say thank you enough to these guys!
Had my 99′ Honda Accord rebuilt. Day it was to be done Mark called me and told me he wasn’t happy with the Shift quality. They took the transmission out and replaced it with a new transmission at no further cost to me. Can’t think of another shop that would be so honest!
As an owner of a high end Jaguar I don’t trust just anyone. My car needed a Major Transmission rebuild so when British Auto Repair told me to go to Kings I did! I am happy with the results and price!
My transmission failed in my explorer. it was repaired by Kings in Seattle. Mark was very helpful and explained everything. Once it was there they also found a motor problem with my transfer case both were fixed in two days! Cant say enough, about this company!
I have done business with Kings Transmission before, I would not take my trucks anywhere else!
I brought my 1990 Honda Civic for a transmission service. The did the service and found that my right side axle was bad. I had them replace it and I found them to be under on there price after calling a few other shops.

1962 Impala, has Ford 9 inch rear. Because my car has a Ford Rear and could not fit Chevy wheels on front and back Kings made New Rear Axels for Rear. They did everything I wanted!
Brought my 2011 Audi All Road. Had a problem with the Torque converter. Having just got to Seattle from Alaska I did not know where to turn. Got referred to Kings from another shop and they were right! KIngs did the job quickly and for a fair price. Everyone should go here!
My normal garage (Gormans) looked at my car when it quit moving. They found that the transmission was bad. Gormans advised me to take my caravan to Kings transmission of Seattle. Kings rebuilt my transmission in just under 2 days. I’m very happy.
King installed a used transmission in my Volvo. I couldn’t afford to rebuild my failed transmission and several shops I came were not interested in installing my transmission. Kenny the owner made me feel welcome.
I have done work with Kings before and was happy with the results. This Time I thought My Torque converter needed to be replaced. Kings However found a bad injector in the motor. they could have took advantage but didn’t. Honest Shop

This Shop is great! Brought my Denali in because my transfer case quit working. They found the problem and quickly fixed it. They made everything easy and affordable.

I saved to repair my 2001 Jeep Wrangler for 2 years. I got a hold of Kings Transmission and they made the reapair simple and easy. I would bring another vehicle to Kings I ever have another transmission problem!
Took my GMC Jimmy to Kings and they rebuilt the transmission. They found the vehicles computer broke the transmission. Kings was able to fix that also. Kings is professional, efficient and very nice!

Kings not only fixed my transmission which was bad but they also fixed a problem with my fuel system that would not let me pass the state EPA yes! Its now all fixed thanks to Kings and I got my Tabs!
